A special Cognac aged on the Island of Oléron in the Bois Ordinaires terroir
Produced by one of the oldest Cognac houses in the region is the Augier L’Océanique Cognac. With a unique coastal character, the distillate is made from Ugni Blanc grapes grown on the Island of Oléron off the southwest coast of France, which technically forms part of the Bois Ordinaires cru. Thanks to the ocean spray across Oléron, this rare Cognac has an undeniable marine influence. The character has endless purity, with a mineral-like quality.
L'Océanique Cognac has been distilled once on fine lees to 40.1% ABV, before being transferred to French oak. Its mineral streak is something worth trying for yourself - or will make a wonderful gift.
Augier Cognac dates back to 1643, when it was founded by Phillippe Augier, and is one of the oldest in the business. Having recently reappeared again, their products have been relaunched with a focus on the importance of grape varieties, the unique quality of the terroir such as the Bois Ordinaires, as opposed to the age denomination.
How to serve Augier L'Oceanique
The maritime influence of this Cognac makes it a delight for food pairing. Pair with fish such as eel with dill and the crunch of saltwort.
Presentation of the bottle
Augier’s design aesthetic makes this a must for your collection. A traditional tasting bottle shape is paired with a moss green seal, and delicate white labeling with the Augier emblem is displayed. It arrives in a sleek and contemporary white box.
